Why

Why split PDF files?

Take pages out of a PDF or cut it into several smaller files. Save every page as its own PDF, or choose ranges such as 1-3 and 4-10.

Formats

About the formats

What is PDF?

PDF was created by Adobe in 1993 and is now an open ISO standard. A PDF looks the same on every screen and printer, which makes it the standard for documents, forms, receipts and scanned papers.

Questions

Questions and answers

Is it safe to split my files here?

Yes. ConvertOrino splits your files with code that runs in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, nobody else can see your files, and they are gone as soon as you close the page.

How do I choose which pages go in each file?

Type page ranges separated by commas in the Pages setting. For example 1-3, 4-10, 11 makes three PDFs. Leave it empty to save every page as its own PDF.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality.

Is the Split PDF tool free?

Yes, completely free. There is no sign up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, because your own device does the work. Very large files are limited by the memory of your device. Phones handle files of a few hundred megabytes, computers handle much more.

Does it work on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows?

Yes. It works in any modern browser, including Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on phones, tablets and computers. Nothing needs to be installed.
